The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of concrete works including but not limited to site preparation, formwork and reinforcement and pouring and placement of concrete.
  • Assist in the delivery of drainage works including but not limited to trenching, laying pipes, backfilling and construction of drainage structures.
  • Read and interpret basic construction plans, set out works from reference points fixed by others and carry out ongoing checks of accuracy.
  • Finish concrete to a high standard using hand tools and mechanical finishing machines.
  • Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Maintain effective and timely communication with your supervisor, team and other colleagues or members of the public to ensure safe completion of quality outcomes within set timeframes, maintaining a customer service attitude at all times.

  • Has the ability to use a variety of work tools and resources to enhance work products and expand your own skill set
  • Is open to sharing knowledge and information with your team and other staff
  • Can work well in a team and understand team objectives

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Current Class MR Driver Licence
  • SafeWork approved certificate for Traffic Controller

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $54,288 to $62,431 pa + 11.5% super
