Your Opportunity

Contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the Workshop by carrying out all aspects of auto electrical work including diagnosis and repair of all plant electrical systems, maintenance and general repairs to Council plant, equipment and infrastructure.

Term:                         Full-time 

Hours of Work:         76 hours per fortnight 

Pay Level:                 $2,390.02 to $2,510.75 per fortnight (Level C10-C8), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading 

In addition to the above pay rate, you will receive payment of the following current applicable allowance:

Tool Allowance - $49.40 per fortnight 

Dirt Allowance - $0.80 paid for hours worked

In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience. 

Employment Base:  Warwick, Queensland

About the Department

The Parks & Operations Department delivers a range of services internally and externally which contribute to the overall service outcomes of Council. As part of the Infrastructure, Assets and Projects Directorate, the Department delivers an extremely diverse range of operational field roles including maintenance of Council parks, gardens, buildings and playgrounds. Other services include management of building service contracts, fleet mechanical repairs and supporting grieving families through our cemetery services. The Department also delivers capital works projects for Council buildings, parks and cemeteries, and as part of its field work manages the procurement and disposal of road vehicles and heavy plant operated by Council

 

What You Will Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in mobile plant and equipment, ensuring efficient fault investigation and resolution. both in the workshop and on-site as required.
  • Utilise diagnostic scanning equipment and technological tools to identify and resolve electrical faults within Council’s fleet.
  • Proactively perform preventative and reactive maintenance of Council-owned plant, equipment and infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
  • Assist with the ordering and collection of parts and equipment when required. Apply sound judgement and initiative to diagnose and resolve electrical issues in vehicles independently and efficiently

 

What You Will Need

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • The legal right to live and work in Australia
  • A Class C (car) licence or greater is required in this role.
  • A white construction card or the ability to obtain one is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • Minimum Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology, or equivalent.
  • Confined Spaces and working at heights competencies, or the ability to complete within 12 months of commencement.
  • Forklift Licence (Licence to Perform High Risk Work LF), or the ability to obtain within reasonable timeframe.
  • To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
