Council is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to support the delivery of high quality water and sewerage services. As part of the Water and Sewerage network team, you will play a key role in maintaining and constructing critical infrastructure to ensure the efficient operation of Council’s water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform general labouring tasks in areas such as water reticulation, sewerage infrastructure, pump, stations, and wastewater treatment plants.
2. Assist with maintenance and construction works across Council’s water and sewerage facilities.
3. Support W&S Network Operations Workers, Plumbers, Fitters in day to day operational tasks.
4. Maintain the ground and facilities of water and sewerage assets to Council’s standards.

Operational Accountabilities:

1. Respond effectively to customer service requests, complaints, and enquiries.
2. Carry out basic administrative tasks such as ordering parts, obtaining quotes, and record keeping.
3. Attend to after-hours emergency callouts as required.
4. Participate in Council’s permit-to-work system and REFLECT maintenance database.
5. Monitor the SCADA telemetry system daily to ensure the uninterrupted operation of water and sewerage network assets.

Your skills and experience:

Essential

1. Previous Trade or Labouring experience
2. MR Drivers Licence (or willing to obtain)
3. Construction Safety Induction (White card)
4. Certificate in Confined Space Entry (or willing to obtain)
5. Operate Breathing Apparatus (or willing to obtain)
6. Certificate in Working Safely at heights (or willing to obtain)

Desirable

1. Forklift ticket
2. Certificate of competency in plant operations
