Female Disability Support Worker – Mental Health & Trauma-Informed

About the Role:
Join us at Nextt as we welcome a new client relocating from Brisbane. This is more than just a support role — it’s a chance to walk alongside someone as they rediscover their confidence, community, and independence in a new city.
  • Shifts: 2 x weekday shifts
  • Days & Times: Flexible (approx. 9am–1pm or 9:30am–1:30pm)
  • Location: South Melbourne
Client Snapshot:
  • 40-year-old woman living with Complex PTSD, Depression, Anorexia, and Functional Neurological Disorder
  • Lives with her mum and is working towards greater independence
  • Utilises supports for community access (appointments, shops, cafés, library visits)
  • Occasionally requires personal care support (e.g. showering, dressing)
  • Loves sitcoms like Friends, Big Bang Theory, Frasier, and Becker
  • Enjoys walking and light exercise (with mindful pacing)
  • Attends regular ECT, physio, and personal training appointments
This is a beautiful opportunity to help her feel safe, seen, and supported as she navigates new surroundings.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Female support worker with trauma training and mental health experience
  • Compassionate, calm, and able to build trust over time
  • An understanding of eating disorders (particularly anorexia) is highly valued
  • Someone comfortable supporting emotional regulation, community integration, and personal care
  • Ability to provide consistency, patience, and positive encouragement
Your Certificates and Licences
  • NDIS workers screening check 
  • Working with children check
  • First aid and CPR certificate
  • Certificate III or IV in individual support, disability or equivalent
  • Australian drivers license and your own fully insured vehicle
Pay Rates
SCHADS Award B2.1 Casual Rates (Includes casual loading):
  • Base hourly rate: $43.23 
  • Afternoon shift (shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday): $47.55 
  • Active Night shift (Finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday)  $48.41 
  • Saturday: $60.52 
  • Sunday: $77.81 
  • Public holiday: $95.10
