About Kids' Early Learning

Here at Council, we own and operate a childcare business, Kids’ Early Learning, with a portfolio of 31 childcare centres and over 40 family daycare educators.

Kids’ Early Learning has approximately 300 full-time, part-time and casual staff, and operates throughout the Blacktown local government area, serving over 2000 families and providing care and learning needs for their children.

About the opportunity 

As a permanent, full-time Senior Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for the implementation, operation and coordination of Council staff, resources, quality standards curriculum, strategic development and legislative compliance of Kids’ Early Learning (KEL) centre day care operations. Additional pivotal tasks as a Senior Coordinator include:

  • Lead and influence KEL centre day care team members to continuously improve policy, procedures and relationships to drive better customer and business outcomes
  • Deliver high satisfactory customer service levels through coordinating polite, friendly advice, support and behaviour to all families and team members
  • Identify individual and group training needs, and develop a strategic approach
  • Develop and implement appropriate child care policies, procedures and practices
  • Deliver effective operational and financial management reporting of centre day care operations
  • Complete grant applications which provide opportunities for centres to participate in a range of activities or gain knowledge and resources.

Qualifications and experience
 

Essential:

  • University degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) or a highly related field
  • Leads a medium to large team of specialist positions
  • Leads other coordinators / supervisors
  • Stakeholder management / project management
  • Extensive experience in the ECEC operations
  • Demonstrated ability and extensive experience in staff management and leadership skills
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience coordinating multiple centre and service types, including long day, out of
    school hours, vacation care and Preschool
  • Valid and verified Working with Children Check
  • Current Class C drivers licence
  • National Police Check clearance.

Desirable:

  • Extensive leadership experience in ECEC operations
  • Experience in a local government and or public service administration
  • Post-Graduate degree qualification
  • Understanding of State and Federal Governments involvement in Children’s Centres.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,534.54 per week
  • 35-hour working week
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
