About the role

The Section Manager Open Space Planning, Projects and Administration will report directly to the Unit Manager of Open Space and Recreation. This position is critical in executing long-term planning and financial budgeting for open space and recreational assets, ensuring alignment with community-based outcomes. Additionally, this role encompasses sports activation and development initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day leadership to a team of professionals, ensuring effective project management practises and a strong commitment to customer service excellence.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Degree qualification in either Landscape Architecture, Recreation Planning, Project Management or Business Management
• Class C Driver’s Licence
• General Construction Induction (CIC - White Card) NSW
• Extensive experience in leading complex projects including design and delivery including balancing competing pressures on project scope, performance, cost, program and risk while meeting key stakeholder expectations and longer term needs of customers and the broader community
• Extensive experience in the use of logic, reasoning and cost benefit analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• The ability to develop and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders in a complex, political environment

Other important information

• The salary range for this position is $125.2k - $150k per annum dependent on skills and relevant experience + 12% superannuation 
• We have a permanent full-time role available. 
• This role will be able to access a 19 day month 
• We are able to offer hybrid working conditions for this role - 2 days from home dependent on operational needs. 
• This role is located at Charmhaven Depot. 

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles. 

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
