Maintenance Coordinator

We’re on the lookout for a forward-thinking Maintenance Coordinator to take the lead in preserving and enhancing the infrastructure that keeps the Rural City of Wangaratta moving. What You’ll Be Doing

As our Maintenance Coordinator, you'll lead a skilled team in the planning, delivery, and continual improvement of civil maintenance programs, including:

  • Maintaining sealed and unsealed roads, urban drains, footpaths, and street cleaning services
  • Providing expert engineering advice and technical input into maintenance and capital works projects
  • Managing program budgets, tracking project performance, and ensuring operational efficiency
  • Leading and mentoring staff, building capability, and fostering a strong safety-first culture
  • Collaborating across departments and engaging with contractors, consultants, and the community
  • Driving innovation and service improvements in the way we manage local infrastructure

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Relevant engineering qualifications or significant experience in civil maintenance/project delivery
  • Strong leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop and inspire teams
  • Deep understanding of roads, bridges, drainage, and civil asset management
  • Confident in budgeting, reporting, and using data to drive decision-making
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for public infrastructure and a genuine desire to make a difference
  • A current driver’s license and knowledge of relevant safety and engineering standards
