Livestock Area Manager

We are looking for a motivated and conscientious individual to join our business as a Livestock Area Manager. This is an opportunity for those with a strong desire to take ownership and build upon a career with an industry leader.

The Livestock Area Manager - Broiler is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of both company-owned and contract broiler farms to meet the demands of the processing plant.
 

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

Animal Husbandry practices

Livestock quality assurance system

Follow and implement all company policies and procedures regarding animal welfare, WHS, environmental and biosecurity.

Responsible for strategic direction of the broiler department

Liaise with other department managers

Essential skills:

Previous experience in livestock management

Current driver's license (to drive tractor, company car where applicable)

Ability to read, write and communicate in English

Extensive experience in animal husbandry, particularly with livestock poultry with a sound commitment to the welfare of the stock

Excellent communicator.

Excellent leadership skills including conflict resolution and problem solving

A knowledge of Quality Systems, WHSE procedures and good understanding of how day to day activities could impact on the Animal Welfare, Biosecurity and Environment
