Murrindindi Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Victorian Climate Resilient Councils (VCRC) – Regional Project Officer. VCRC is a program of support for Victorian councils to increase their climate resilience. It will be undertaken over three years from 2025 to 2028. It is being led by the Victorian Greenhouse Alliances (VGAs), partnerships of councils helping their members to address climate change.

About this opportunity
In this role of VCRC Regional Project Officer, you will offer support and advice to low-capacity councils in rural and regional areas, and promote the VCRC program and the benefits of climate resilience to those councils and their leadership. Your connection and feedback from councils will be critical to the continuing development of the VCRC program. Your work with online resources will help councils increase their adaptive capacity to become climate resilient and will support the timely delivery and evaluation of the VCRC project.
The VCRC Regional Project Officer role is hosted by one of the VGAs, the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance, based at Murrindindi Shire Council. This role is based at Murrindindi Shire Council, and can be remote and/or hybrid based. The VCRC team will operate through the Western Alliance for Greenhouse Action (Brimbank and Wyndham City Councils). The team will largely meet online.

We are located within proximity to Melbourne, a lovely 60 to 90 minute drive, depending on your route.
