NPARC is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager Regulatory Services to join our Community and Regulatory Services Department.
This position is responsible for the efficient and effective management of a broad range of regulatory functions, including environmental health, noxious weed control, pest management, illegal dumping investigations, and animal management (including large animals such as horses). The role also involves the issuing of licences and permits, as well as the oversight of land use management activities across the region
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
• Lead and manage the delivery of Environmental Health, Local Laws enforcement, animal management (including large animals such as horses), pest control programs, and illegal dumping investigations across the region.
• Coordinate and implement proactive and reactive strategies to reduce illegal dumping and manage public reporting, investigations, evidence collection, and enforcement actions in accordance with legislation.
• Plan and deliver pest control operations (e.g., rodent, mosquito, and invasive species management) to support public health and environmental objectives.
• Administer and issue licences and permits, and oversee all activities associated with Regulatory Services, ensuring compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and Council policies.
• Support the integration of Council’s long-term strategic land use and environmental plans, ensuring they reflect community priorities and meet legislative and policy requirements.
• Ensure compliance with statutory frameworks in all regulatory duties including animal management, environmental health, illegal dumping, pest management, and building/plumbing inspection processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends, legal requirements, and best practice in public sector regulatory services, applying this knowledge to strengthen operational outcomes and community safety.
