What’s the role all about
We are seeking an ambitious, future focussed transport leader to join the City Growth and Development Division as the Head of Transport. Reporting to the Manager City Planning and Sustainability you will lead an engaged and experienced team of transport professionals to implement our Integrated Transport Strategy, and design and deliver a range of significant projects to enhance the liveability of our City.
You will lead strategic, complex, and high-profile projects that contribute to the delivery of the Council Plan and ensure that our transport strategy and delivery is integrated with our work to create great places.
To be successful in this role you will be a strategic transport professional with leadership experience in similarly complex environments who creates positive team cultures and is driven to deliver great outcomes for the community. You will bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgement and problem-solving skills and have a proven track record of delivery.
What you might do
Provide visionary leadership and deliver strategic, complex, and high-profile projects that will enhance our vibrant city.
Lead, mentor and inspire an engaged team of professionals across the transport strategy and transport safety teams to deliver key priorities including the Integrated Transport Strategy.
Ensure Council’s transport management and planning functions are met and incorporate contemporary management and professional standards.
Develop a positive workplace culture, with a focus on people management with care and empathy, strong communication and emotional intelligence.
Provide clear communications internally and externally, and promote excellent customer service
