ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you passionate about helping people and making a positive impact in your community? Barkly Regional Council is looking for a proactive, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Officer in Tennant Creek.

This role is the first point of contact for the Council and plays a vital role in delivering high-quality service to residents, visitors, and internal teams. You'll support the day-to-day operations of the Administration Centre, assist with various administrative tasks, and ensure that all customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Previous customer service and administration experience.
  • Understanding of the role including relevant policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills, in particular MS Office.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Current National Police Criminal History Check.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card – Northern Territory).

THE FINER DETAILS

  • Full-Time position paying Level 8 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.
  • Annual Salary of $61,914.46 per annum ($2,381.33 gross per fortnight).
  • Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $1.89 per ordinary hour.
  • 11.5% Superannuation.
  • Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.

  • Housing subsidy of up to $330.00 gross per week may be available for the right applicant.
  • Relocation Assistance of up to $5,000.00 available for external applicants.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Barkly Regional Council requires that all applicants have a National Criminal History Check. You will be required to provide a recent National Criminal History Check prior to any offer of employment.

Barkly Regional Council requires the applicant to be able to produce or be able to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card – Northern Territory) prior to commencement.
