Are you passionate about working with children and interested in gymnastics? We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated volunteers to support our thriving gymnastics program and gain valuable experience in a fun, supportive environment.

About the role

As a Volunteer Gymnastics Assistant Coach, you will support the delivery of gymnastics classes by assisting coaches and encouraging participants in their learning. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your skills while contributing to a safe, welcoming and positive environment for all participants.

Our program caters to nearly 1000 participants ranging from 8 weeks through to adults. In this role, you’ll primarily assist classes for children aged 4–16 years while working alongside experienced coaches and team leaders.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to:

• Gain experience in gymnastics coaching
• Develop confidence working with children
• Work as part of a supportive and energetic team

Key Responsibilities

• Assist coaches by supporting and encouraging participants (without delivering direct instruction)
• Work collaboratively with coaches, supervisors and the Gymnastics Team Leader
• Follow directions, policies and safe work practices
• Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive class environment

Volunteer Commitment

Volunteer shifts may include afternoons, evenings and weekends, with many classes running between 4:00pm – 6:00pm weekdays and 10am - 2pm Saturday

About you

You are positive, reliable and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in working with children and sport. You enjoy being part of a team and contributing to a fun, inclusive environment.

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be reliable, punctual and well-presented
• Have an interest in gymnastics and active participation
